Levi's Ribcage Jeans Reviewed in Every Size
Nothing beats seeing jeans on someone who is your size before you buy them. That’s why we’ve rounded up youtube videos from influencers who have tried on and reviewed Levi’s Ribcage Jeans. Find your size below to see if Levi’s Ribcage jeans are right for you.
Levi's Ribcage Jeans at a Glance
Levi’s Ribcage are a favorite among curvy women. They have one of the highest rises you can find on the market - 12”, making them 0.5” higher the Mile High Jean, Levi’s next closest rise. Because of their high rise, the waistband is almost guaranteed to sit above your belly button, no matter how you’re shaped.
As a curvy girl myself — I have a 13” difference between my hips and waist — it’s hard to find jeans that come up to my belly button. My wide hips tend to pull the waistband way below where they’re supposed to sit.
Most influencers who reviewed the Ribcage Jeans suggested sizing down. The high cotton percentage in the jean means it will stretch out with wear. So, if the waistband is tight off the rack, it’ll stretch out after a few wears.
Most reviewers loved Levi’s Ribcage Jean. It creates an elongated silhouette, lengthening your legs and lifting your booty.
If you try the Ribcage and don’t like it, most reviewers suggest Levi’s 501 instead. How can you tell which one to pick? If you have more weight around your hips, then you love the Ribcage. If you have more weight in your booty, go with Levi’s 501.

Julie Lee shares her thoughts on the Ribcage Jean. In this video she compares the 501s, Wedgie, and Ribcage Skinny Jeans.
She wasn’t a huge fan of the Ribcage jeans because they are super high rise jeans. Julie ended up going with the Levi’s 501’s instead because they were more comfortable.
Pros
“I know a lot of people love the look because it lengthens your legs and keeps everything in.”
Cons
“The rib cage were just straight up too small for me I'm wearing a size 24 here and I did end up ordering a 25 and even though that would have been my size they still just were too uncomfortable.”
“The waist is just too high for me.“
Julie’s Stats:
Typical Denim Size: Size 25
Height: 5’1”
Weight: 115 lbs
Waist: 26.5”
Hips: 36”
Thighs: 20.5”

Jess Cavada shares her thoughts on the Ribcage Jean. In this video she starts by comparing her brand new Levi’s Ribcage Jeans with a pair she has stretched out with wear. Jess then compares the Ribcage, 501 Skinny, and 501 Original Stretch.
Jess recommends getting your true size in Levi’s. Levi’s makes denim which is 99% or 100% cotton meaning they will stretch out and conform to your body with more wear.
Here’s why Jess loves the Ribcage Jeans:
“I love the high rise and I think it just is so much more flattering to my butt which I definitely appreciate and the style in general just is so much more cool.”
“My favorite thing about the ribcage jeans is the straight leg. My biggest challenge when it comes to breaking in a pair of Levi's is the the knee. The best thing about this straight leg pant is that …. you have a full range of motion.”
Jess’s Stats:
Height: 5’3”
Waist: 28”
Hips: 37”
Inseam: 26”

Allison Corinne shares her thoughts on every pair of jeans she owns - including 3 pairs of Ribcage Jeans.
Allison owns the Ribcage Jeans in multiple colors and sizes. At 2:36 she shares her white Ribcage Straight Leg Jeans in a size 25x27. At 12:02 she shares her light blue Ribcage Straight Leg Jeans also in a size 25x27. At 17:20 she share her dark blue Ribcage Straight Leg Jeans in a size 26x27. She sized up because the dark blue has less stretch and is a heavier denim. Comparing the fits of the two different sizes can give you an idea of how much more room sizing up can give you.
Here’s why Allison loves the Ribcage Jean:
“I think the rib cage jeans are my new favorite style of jeans in general. I just think they have a really flattering fit. They are very high waisted and do cinch you at the waist and they actually do fit you at the waist. They don't really bag out like some of the other straight leg jeans that I have”
“These also have a button fly which I prefer in general for jeans now. at first I thought that it was more of a hassle than having a zipper fly but I find that the buttons actually just kind of cinch you in and smooth out this area a little bit more and just make your jeans fit a little bit better.”
“I absolutely love the fit of these….these were my favorite jeans to wear in the winter. They are a longer length so I feel like they look great over ankle booties”
Allison’s Stats:
Height: 5’3”
Waist: 25”

Taylor Made Style shares her thoughts on the Ribcage Jean. These are, by far, her favorite pair of jeans. She is curvy, which always makes buying jeans a challenge.
Here’s what Taylor loves about Levi’s Ribcage Jeans:
“[The Levi’s Ribcage] are the jeans that I basically want to be buried in”
“They seriously are the most flattering jeans ever. They make your butt look so good, they make your thighs and your legs look super slim”
“What's great about these is that they have some stretch to them. They're made with 99% cotton and 1% elastane. The elastane really allows for them to be snug in the waist and in the butt which, is my biggest problem with finding jeans to fit me”
Taylor’s Stats:
Height: 5’4”
Waist: 27”
Hips: 38”

Rachael Belvin shares her thoughts on the Ribcage Jean is both the skinny leg and wide leg as well as Abrand Mom Jeans and Topshop Jamie Jeans.
Rachael suggests sizing down because they stretched out really quick. She originally bought Ribcage Jeans in a 29 but then ended up buying a second pair in a 28.
Here’s what Rachael loves about her Levi’s Ribcage jeans:
“They have buttons up and down in the waist which I actually really like because I've had so many issues with zippers breaking on pants.”
“Levi's have officially become my favorite jeans.”
“I really like the length [Size 28x29] because if I feel like they go really nicely with boots and also still work with sneakers.”
“What's nice about the ribcage is they do come in the longer 29 inch length which is perfect for my height. I’m 5’8” so I find that it like hits me right above the ankle.“
Rachael’s Stats:
Height: 5’8”
Waist: 28”
Hips: 43”
Levi's Ribcage Size 30
Lyarra shares her thoughts on the Ribcage Jean as well as 6 other Levi’s cuts. The Ribcage Jean was not her favorite because it created terrible waistband gap. She ended up loving the 501 crop, the Mom Jeans and the Mile High Super Skinny.
Pros
“They're basically up to my ribs. I do like that I like super high things. I think it looks super flattering and feminine. I fits me well [through the hips] and it fits me nicely around the bum.”
Cons
Waistband Gap: “Oh Sh*t, there’s a lot of room right here. I could put like a baby right here, to carry on my back. That is very weird to say.”
“From the front it’s great but from the back it’s strange.”
Lyarra’s Stats:
Height: 5’9”
Waist: 28”
Hips: 42.5“
Which Size Levi's Ribcage Should You Buy?
The size you buy depends on your body measurements and personal tastes.
I was surprised to find that some Youtubers had the same body measurements but bought different sizes. That’s because some wanted very fitted jeans that stretch over time, but other wanted a looser fit. The reviews above should give you an idea about which size is best for you.
If you find a Levi’s Ribcage Youtube review in a size I missed, let me know! I spent days searching Youtube for reviews, but couldn’t find one in every size.
